Venture On Ltd have been providing Duke of Edinburgh's Award Expedition Training since 1994. We are licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority - ensuring safe and well-managed activties. We are Approved Actvity Providers

Venture On was established in 1994 by Ronnie Hamilton. Ronnie is a qualified Mountain Leader – this accreditation achieved whilst serving as a Commissioned Officer in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Since then, he has continued to develop the company - whilst also gaining significant operational and safety management experience within the rail industry.

Our Staff Profile

Staff at Venture On are experienced professionals - all of whom are qualified to National Governing Body standards.

We have developed a very stable team of staff with many of our instructors being with us for 10 years or more.

Typically, our staff are a generation older than Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DOE) expedition candidates. They come from a variety of full-time professional backgrounds ranging from: engineering; teaching; management. This enables staff to provide a comprehensive instructional, mentoring, and guidance based learning experience for those taking part.

Our Clients

Over the years, Venture On clients have included: Private Education Sector; Scottish Gas; Local Authorities; and the Royal Navy - delivering leadership and team building activities and ‘train the trainer’ courses in outdoor activities.

Licences and Regulatory Bodies

We were initially licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority at the conception of the accreditation scheme. The accreditation ensures that adequate safety procedures are in place and externally audited.

We are an Approved Activty Provider by the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
